From birthday parties to corporate functions, you can host an event that’s like no other at The Iowa Children’s Museum. Party room and facility rentals are available to make your event memorable, easy to plan, and so much fun.

Make your child’s birthday unforgettable! Enjoy our private party room (decorating is welcome) and playtime for up to 15 guests with your rental fee. It’s guaranteed to be a celebration that’s easy to plan and packed with fun.
Cost: $250 (includes room rental and playtime in the museum during the party for up to 15 guests)
Room Capacity: Up to 25 people seated, more if standing
Time: 2 hours + 30 min before and after for set-up and tear-down

Saturday 10:30 AM–12:30 PM, 2:30–4:30 PM
Sunday 10:30 AM–12:30 PM, 2:30–4:30 PM

Rental fee includes up to 15 guests (plus those named on the host family’s membership, if applicable). Each additional guest is $10.
Staff will do a guest count and take additional payment at the end of the party for any guests over the 15 included in the base price.
Members receive a 10% discount on all rentals, and named family members on your membership are not included in the final guest count!
The party room measures approximately 18′ x 36′ and comfortably fits up to 25 people seated at tables. Tables and chairs (kid and adult sizes) are provided.
You can lock the party room when not in use, making it an excellent “home base” to store your items when you’re ready to go play in our exhibits.
Sinks are available for guests use within the party room. Use of museum refrigerator/freezer during your rental may be possible; check with museum staff for more details.
We do not provide staff supervision during exhibit playtime. Children must be supervised in the museum at all times. We require 1 adult for every 5 children in your party to ensure the safety of everyone in our space.
You are welcome to decorate the space. You may arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled party time for set-up and must vacate the room within 30 minutes after the end of the scheduled party time.
Outside food and drink are permitted in the party room only. We do not allow food or beverages on the museum floor. We reserve the right to charge a $100 cleaning fee for food/drink spilled outside the party room or if the party room is not cleaned up after your use. Thank you in advance for being respectful of our space!
A cancellation notice is required at least 2 weeks from the reservation date. Events that have been cancelled 2+ weeks prior will receive a refund of 50% of base price paid. Parties that have been cancelled with less than 2 weeks notice will not receive a refund.
Have the entire museum to yourselves!
Facility rentals provide exclusive access while the museum is closed to the public, making it a great option for school family nights, client appreciation events, holiday parties, birthday parties and more.
