Great Give Day is a county-wide celebration of giving that unites individuals, businesses, and organizations across Johnson County to support local nonprofits doing meaningful work. Why Your Gift Matters
The Iowa Children’s Museum exists to inspire every child to imagine, create, discover, and explore through the power of play. On Great Give Day, we’re raising funds to support our summer outreach programming and increase access to inclusive, sensory-friendly play experiences.
Through our ICM2Go program, we take the joy of hands-on learning directly into the community—setting up in parks, attending festivals, and participating in local events. These mobile outreach efforts allow us to meet families where they are and remove barriers to educational play. To make these events welcoming and accessible to more children, we are working to add a mobile sensory tent to our outreach setup. This calming, quiet space will include items like soft seating, noise-canceling headphones, and weighted lap pads—offering comfort and regulation for children who may be overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of busy public events.
Together, these efforts help us ensure that all children—regardless of background, ability, or circumstance—can experience the benefits of play-based learning.
