“Space Stations” Program Returns to Local Libraries
Your Mission: Explore Space with The Iowa Children’s Museum
The Iowa Children’s Museum is once again bringing Space Stations, a free, hands-on space exploration program, to libraries across Eastern Iowa in partnership with NASA and the Iowa Space Grant Consortium.
This year’s program will visit new library locations and features updated activities designed to spark curiosity and introduce kids to real-world space science through hands-on learning.
What is Space Stations?
Space Stations is an interactive educational program where children explore how scientists study space through engaging, age-appropriate activities. During each session, participants will:
-
Ignite their curiosity with guided exploration and discussion
-
Create a space rover to explore the Moon’s surface
-
Design and construct a planisphere to understand the night sky
-
Learn about temperature mapping and how scientists study extreme environments in space
Activities are designed for elementary-aged learners, but all are welcome to attend.
