HalloWEEK: October 29 – 31
From bats and spiders to pumpkins and scarecrows, our exhibits will transform during HalloWEEK! Farmer Pete is taking over the museum to turn it into a pumpkin patch full of hands-on activities and Halloween magic. From building scarecrows to crafting creepy-crawly pizzas, kids will love exploring all the surprises we have in store. And don’t forget the extra-special Halloween festivities on October 31st—costumes are encouraged, but not required. Learn more.
Sensory-Friendly Halloween: October 27
We’re making sure everyone can enjoy the Halloween spirit with our Sensory-Friendly Halloween event. Designed for families who prefer a quieter, calmer environment, this evening offers sensory-friendly activities, treat stations, and a visit from some special characters. With all treats being non-food items, everyone can join in on the fun! Learn more.
Jack SPLAT: November 2
After Halloween, don’t toss your Jack-O-Lanterns—let us toss them from three stories up instead! Bring your pumpkins to Chauncey Swan Park for one final Halloween hurrah as we drop them from up high and watch them land with a SPLAT! It’s a free event full of thrills, outdoor activities, and tasty breakfast treats from local food vendors. Plus, all pumpkins will be composted after the fun is over! Learn more.
With so many ways to celebrate, there’s no better place to enjoy Halloween than The Iowa Children’s Museum! Be sure to mark your calendars, and we’ll see you at the museum for a spooktacular good time.
