Keeping your child safe and healthy during your visit is our highest priority.

Thanks you for choosing the Iowa Children`s Museum as your destination for play and learning. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Let’s play safely!

RULES WE ASK ALL VISITORS TO FOLLOW WHILE PLAYING IN OUR EXHIBITS:

Stick together.

All children need to be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 16 years old.

Respect our space and each other.

We want our exhibits to be a welcoming place where all families are free to imagine, create, discover, and explore. We expect all visitors to treat others kindly and to play in a safe, gentle way.

Use walking feet and inside voices. Share, take turns, and don’t engage in rough play.

Adults are asked to help children treat museum materials with respect and to put things back where they belong before heading to a new exhibit.

Leave food and drinks outside of the museum.

Our space is one-of-a-kind, and we work really hard to keep it clean. Thank you for helping us prevent spills.

Come play only when you’re healthy.

We like sharing, but not sharing germs. Remember to also wash your hands and use the “yuck bins” in our exhibits if someone puts something in their mouth.

For the safety of all guests and staff, we reserve the right to redirect disruptive or unsafe behavior. Guests who cannot follow museum rules may be asked to leave to prevent unsafe, inappropriate, disruptive, or damaging behaviors.

How we keep the museum clean

At the Iowa Children’s Museum, we have implemented a number of measures to ensure that our museum is a great space for your child to play and learn:

  • High-touch areas are sanitized multiple times throughout the day
  • A thorough, museum-wide sanitizing process is carried out regularly
  • Virus-mitigating air purifiers have been installed in our HVAC system along with other health and safety infrastructure investments
  • We continually monitor our processes and invite feedback from guests in order to make adjustments as needed

We invite you to reach out with questions or concerns at any time!

Give the gift of play!

Fuel their curiosity and create lasting memories—memberships, gift certificates, and unique toys from our gift shop will spark joy, learning, and endless play!
