Thanks you for choosing the Iowa Children`s Museum as your destination for play and learning. We look forward to seeing you soon!
All children need to be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 16 years old.
We want our exhibits to be a welcoming place where all families are free to imagine, create, discover, and explore. We expect all visitors to treat others kindly and to play in a safe, gentle way.
Use walking feet and inside voices. Share, take turns, and don’t engage in rough play.
Adults are asked to help children treat museum materials with respect and to put things back where they belong before heading to a new exhibit.
Our space is one-of-a-kind, and we work really hard to keep it clean. Thank you for helping us prevent spills.
We like sharing, but not sharing germs. Remember to also wash your hands and use the “yuck bins” in our exhibits if someone puts something in their mouth.
For the safety of all guests and staff, we reserve the right to redirect disruptive or unsafe behavior. Guests who cannot follow museum rules may be asked to leave to prevent unsafe, inappropriate, disruptive, or damaging behaviors.
Need a friendly reminder while you play? Keep an eye out for Pete the Turtle’s cousins—Norman, Normina, and Normella. They are here to help everyone have a great time at The Iowa Children’s Museum.
You’ll spot these helpful turtles throughout the museum, giving little nudges to keep play fun for all. When in doubt, just follow The Norms!
At the Iowa Children’s Museum, we have implemented a number of measures to ensure that our museum is a great space for your child to play and learn:
