DESCRIPTION:Come explore the beauty of nature from our indoor classroom in our Nature Explorers Camp! Along with playing together in our exhibits\, campers will be guided through a variety of nature-themed projects\, activities\, and games—like creating their own bird from paper parts or pretending to be reindeer migrating together. \nCampers will also have plenty of opportunities to explore nature up close in the classroom\, with displays featuring local fossils\, real animal bones\, live plants\, and lots of cool rocks and minerals. \nEven though we won’t be going outside during the camp\, it is guaranteed to be a wild time with plenty of outdoor-inspired fun! This camp is for children who have completed kindergarten\, 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd\, 4th\, or 5th grade\, with nature-based activities tailored to a wide range of elementary ages. \nPlease note: Campers will take part in hands-on projects and exploration using materials like sticks\, leaves\, dirt\, and rocks—so we’ll definitely be getting our hands dirty! \nThis camp meets July 6 – 10\, 2026\, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. SUMMARY:Summer Camp: Engineering Explorers Camp - SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:Engineering Explorers is a collaborative\, hands-on camp that encourages young learners to think like engineers. Through playful problem-solving and guided challenges\, campers build confidence\, creativity\, and critical-thinking skills while exploring how things work. \nDesigned around STEAM learning (science\, technology\, engineering\, art\, and math)\, this camp invites participants to explore big ideas in an approachable\, age-appropriate way. Working together\, campers will tackle open-ended challenges that introduce them to a variety of engineering fields and help them see themselves as capable problem-solvers. \nThis camp is designed for children who have completed kindergarten\, 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd\, 4th\, or 5th grade\, with hands-on engineering and STEAM challenges tailored to a wide range of elementary ages. Activities will include building simple machines to accomplish a task\, designing basic software or coding solutions to solve a problem\, and experimenting with materials through hands-on exploration. Each challenge encourages curiosity\, collaboration\, and persistence—all while keeping play at the center of the experience. \nThis camp meets July 20 – 24\, 2026\, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Each month\, we’ll feature a different play schema—key behaviors that help kids make sense of the world—and pair it with activities in the party room and an exhibit that brings it to life. \nCaregivers can explore the science of play with insights from our museum educators\, enjoy guided sensory activities\, and discover simple ways to extend the fun at home. \nToddler Takeover is sponsored by Stride Autism Centers. \n\n\nPlease note: Activities from 9-10 a.m (select dates) are available during our Member-Only Hours. We open to the public at 10:00 a.m. and invite ALL little learners to join in the fun after that.
