Art & Design Studio

Creativity takes off in this exhibit! Learners of all ages can participate in structured and unstructured art activities that stretch their imagination and offer freedom of expression using a variety of unique materials, tools, and processes. Special emphasis is placed on using recycled materials to create art. The design of this exhibit allows visitors to flow in and out at their leisure, accommodating a variety of ages, attention spans, and schedules.

What can you do in the Art & Design Studio?

• Create works of art using diverse materials that range from paint and markers to feathers and a unique array of recycled objects!
• Use the weekly art projects on the studio chalkboard to make special creations tied to celebrations and museum exhibits and programs.
• Check out weekly Art Adventure! programs facilitated by museum staff every Thursday afternnoon and select weekend days.  See the museum calendar for details.

Parent Tip:

There are lots of ways to help your child unleash their creativity in the Art & Design Studio. Most importantly, get involved yourself.  Don't be afraid to get out the glue and paint to work alongside your child.  It's the process of creating art that's important, not the quality of the final product. So relax if you don't recognize your child's work of art...it's all good!
